Hi,

I know how to use Portrait Orientation Lock so the problem is not that. However, the text message app is stuck on horizontal. Any ideas how I can change it back to Vertical?

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, you're having issues with the Messages app being horizontal or in landscape mode.

For issues like this, we'd recommend to close the Messages app and restart your iPhone normally:

Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch

Restart your iPhone

With orientation lock disabled in Control Center, launch the Messages app to test it out.

Text Message Keyboard will not go LandscapeOur family has 4 iPhones. All are on the same account and have the highest IOS version installed. 2 of the phones (7 and 12 ProMax) the keyboard for text messages will turn to landscape when the phone is turned on its side. If you turn the phone on its side, photos rotate properly. The only function that does not change with rotating the phone is the keyboard for text messages.
